About the Division of Student Affairs and Teaching
Academics, teaching and advanced training lie at the heart of the university’s responsibilities. The services provided by the division are designed to optimally support the members of Ruperto Carola, and it works in close cooperation with the faculties, institutes and students to move the associated processes forward in an expert manner.
The division’s primary task is to provide teaching support for the faculties and advisory services for the students. In addition to assisting students from admission to exmatriculation, the division also offers counselling in the event of difficulties as studies proceed as well as professional orientation and career planning after graduation. The primary point-of-contact for students is the service portal in the Carolinum in Old Town Heidelberg. Fairs and public events like Study Information Day offer prospective students the opportunity to learn about the broad range of programmes Ruperto Carola offers.
The division also provides the faculties and institutes with numerous services, such as comprehensive legal and administrative support in revising curricula, developing degree programmes and advanced training opportunities. University didactics enables instructors to advance their personal teaching abilities and provides a platform of cross-disciplinary exchange. The division's service portal for teaching staff bundles teaching-related services for the faculties and institutes.
