All Latin and bilingual (Latin-Greek) inscriptions of the provinces of the Roman Empire will be entered systematically. Military diplomas, instrumentum domesticum and tile stamps as well as very fragmentary remains of inscriptions will be excluded from systematic entry. Since 2003 the entry of the inscriptions from Italy has been and will remain the domain of the Epigraphic Database Rome (EDR).
Furthermore all inscription texts have been checked on at least a provisional basis. The field state of progress provides information on the present state of progress of any given record.
