The single measures range from the support of young families over promotional programmes for young female investigators to Dual-Careers-Services.

Heidelberg University is convinced that a familiy-friendly environment not only eases the compatibility of family commitments and academic career, but is also a contributiong factor within the competition about top scientists. Thence, Heidelberg University established various childcare options. In addition to the regular child-care for toddlers at the Crèche and children up to school age at the Kindertagesstätte, a backup-service, holiday-programmes as well as congress-childcare is provided. In order to support student parents, the project KidS has launched.
