Children up to three years of age: Kinderkrippe of Heidelberg University
The Kinderkrippe (creche) takes care of children between two month and three years of age – with different activities stimulating their development. The Kinderkrippe is located in the Neuenheimer Feld (INF) 685, close to the campus area and therefore very convenient for the staff members of the University and University Hospital. Operation hours are from 7.30 am to 06.00 pm.

For children between three and six years of age: Daycare Centre of Heidelberg University
The Kindertagesstätte (Day-care Centre), located at INF 159, offers all-day day-care throughout the year. Within the operation hours from 7.30 am to 18.00 pm the children are taken care of according to their level of development in stimulating their emotional, social and cognitive skills. The concept of education includes cooperation with external facilities as the “Heidelberger Sing- und Musikschule” and the “Grüne Schule” at the Botanical Garden.New childcare facilities for creche and kindergarten children: Humboldtstraße 17
The childcare facilities at Humboldtstraße 17 offer care options both for children between two months and three years and for preschoolers between three and six years of age. In these new facilities the creche and the day-care centre are thus brought together under one roof. Operation hours are from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.
If everything goes wrong: Backup-Service at the Kinderhaus of the University of Heidelberg
The university’s Backup-Service provides flexible emergency care for children from three to six years in urgent and unforeseeable situations, e.g. unavailability of regular care or absence of the parents for professional reasons. It’s possible to choose between half a day and all day care from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.

Visitors in Heidelberg: Congress Childcare at the University of Heidelberg
With its Congress Childcare service, the university offers reliable and customised childcare to academics from elsewhere coming to Heidelberg University with their children to attend conferences or symposia. Children from families of visiting academics can spend time and make friends at the Kids Club in Neuenheimer Feld (INF 370) on a day-care basis.Holiday Childcare at the University of Heidelberg
Heidelberg University provides subsidized holiday childcare for the children of the staff members. Activities such as sports, crafts and creative workshops as well as field trips are part of the programme. The children are taken care of by experienced caregivers in small groups and will easily find new friends.

Kids Club of the University of Heidelberg
At the KidsClub of the University of Heidelberg children living with their academic parents at the Guesthouse of the University can spend their time and meet friends. Additionally the Kids Club offers day-care for children of visiting academics. The Kinderhaus Office helps finding private day-care or a nanny and in looking for an adequate school.
