Book Exchange

The Ibero Library has been an integral part of the library of the Institute of European Art History since 1999. With an inventory of 8.000 volumes it is one of only a few German university libraries equipped with a special inventory on art and architectural history of the Iberian Peninsula as well as Latin America.

Aim of our exchange programme

Aim of the Ibero Library of Heidelberg University is to inspire and support students and young researchers interested in this field of study. The actualization and extension of our inventory for this purpose is facilitated in large part through donations and book exchange with notable institutions, such as:

  • Universities: Universidad de León, Universidad de Salamanca, Universidad de Valencia, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Junta de Castilla & León, Junta de Andalucía, Institut Valencià d'Art Modern, Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro, Centro de Estudios Brasileños, Museo Figari Montevideo, Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt, Deutsches Architekturmuseum Frankfurt)
  • Libraries: Biblioteques de Barcelona, Biblioteca Central de la UNAM
  • Foundations: Daros, Fundación del Patrimonio Histórico de Castilla y León, Fundação Calouste Gulkenkian
  • Private donations: Prof. Dr. Peter Anselm Riedl, Dr. Manuel Cuadra, Dr. Jochen Staebel
