Deeply saddened, we would like to inform you that our venerated mentor and head of laboratory suddenly passed away on August 15th 2015, only a few months after retiring from his chair at the University of Heidelberg.
His passing marks the loss of an outstandingly distinguished figure in the Institute of Organic Chemistry who has been a model of integrity, dedication and human warmth. We morn his passing.
The spirit of scientific activity and cooperation, which he fostered, will guide us in the future.
