Tetraazapyrene- and Tetraazaperopyrene-Derivatives as Organic Semiconductors

The principal goal is the development of new structural motifs in the chemistry of poly-N-heterocyclic compounds, focusing on tetraazapyrenes and tetraazaperopyrenes. A main objective will be to expand these substance classes via functionalization of their aromatic core and to synthesize materials by targeted design that are suitable for the application as semiconductors in organic electronic devices. Through close cooperation with research groups in theoretical chemistry as well as materials science structure-property relationships should be derived for these materials.
