Procedure
We welcome applications from students who have, or expect to have, completed a relevant Bachelors degree with an above-average* grade by the end of the academic year preceding the desired semester of entry. Degree subjects should either be in molecular biotechnology or other sciences e.g. biology or physics, chemistry, mathematics, informatics with a focus on some aspect of biological sciences.
Applications will be evaluated and top ranked candidates will be invited for an interview. The interview will be done by two experienced lecturers and will focus on the skills required for the master program. Applicants who qualify for an interview will be personally invited through the academic office of the Molecular Biotechnlogy master program.

You have to prove f.e.a TestDaF Niveau 4 or a DSH Stufe 2 (67%) - level C1. You can find more information about German courses by the "Internationales Studienzentrum".
If you can prove a very good English test, in exceptional case we will accept German tests with a medium level (B2), f.e. DSH Stufe 1 (57%) or TestDaF Niveau 3.
In exceptional case you can hand in your German-language-test later, but at the latest by the enrollment - only upon reguest.
Another requirement is an English test. We accept the following language tests: TOEFL (min. 90 of 120 or ITP 570 of 677), IELTS (min. 6,5), Cambridge Certifikate in Advanced English (CAE) or a final degree certificate (BSc) of a north american or english (UK) university. Please note that only an English Bachelor thesis ist not sufficient!
You can give the interviews in English.
We have to inform you, that there are no scholarships at the University of Heidelberg. You have to finance your studies by yourself. Please notice, that the costs in Germany are very high, so you should be prepared for monthly costs of 1.000,-- Euro.
*Guidelines: German system: at least 2,4; British System, 2.1 or above.
Final degree certificates or appropriately certified copies must be provided before formal admission to the course is granted. Non-EU students should note that this formal admission will also be required before a visa can be issued.
