Integrated Service Portals
Interdisciplinary collaboration with multiple partners, including non-university institutions, poses new challenges for the university administration, initiating a restructuring of its services. Functionally integrated service portals that coordinate and bundle administrative competencies offer effective and adaptive solutions.
One example is the Welcome Centre, offering visiting scholars advisory and information services. The “Student Service Centre”, with its telephone, web, and personal advisory service portals, is a main point of contact for all matters related to academic study. The Heidelberg Research Service has staff who specialise in complex issues related to research and third-party funding.
