GaiaSprint2

ESA’s Gaia space mission is now providing a fantastic set of data on stellar physics and the formation history of the Galaxy. The „Gaia Sprints“ are forseen to be a sequence of small invitation workshop, where some of the best young people in this field can collaboratively (also with a small group of more senior scientists) on projects and papers in „real time“.

The first Gaia sprint in New York in October 2016 proved fabulously productive and successful. But Gaia will produce successively better data in the years to come. We hope to produce at least a dozen results/papers in this workshop, on the dynamics of the Galaxy and the physics of stars, with more to emerge in the aftermath, having been initiated at the Gaia sprint.
