Sound Memories Treffen

Project meeting of the collaborative research project ‘Sound Memories: The Musical Past in Late-Medieval and Early-Modern Europe’ (SoundMe, funded by HERA network, 2016-19). The project investigates the genesis and early development of the concept of ‘music of the past’, which originated in 13^th-century Paris and traces the deployment of such music in the service of various political and religious agendas across Europe from the 14^th to the 16^th century. Part of this meeting will be an exchange with the research project „Die frühe Messvertonung zwischen liturgischer Funktion und Kunstanspruch“ (Universität Mainz).
