The Cluster’s current research activities are organized in four areas:

Transcultural Studies

Transculturalsstudies

The subject of Transcultural Studies is one of the scientific pillars of Heidelberg University. To further develop the potentials of the comprehensive university in accordance with its institutional strategy, Transcultural Studies are supported with funds of the Excellence Initiative. (...) The emphasis is placed on testing a theoretical approach that does not concentrate on historical periods or continents, but aims to overcome the existing geographic focus of area studies.
